Steven Ruby is a Charleston attorney in private practice, representing corporate and executive clients in significant, complex matters. He has worked with major clients across industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, technology, energy, hospitality, and gaming, handling litigation, business transactions, government regulation and strategic legal counsel.
After graduating first in his law school class, Ruby served as a law clerk for Judge Robert B. King of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He later served as a federal prosecutor and chief of the white-collar section in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia, prosecuting cases of state and national significance involving mine safety, extortion and political corruption.
An eighth-generation West Virginian, Ruby resides in Charleston with his wife and three children. He is also active in the community, serving as a coach for a local youth robotics team.
